LTO escapades

Here's a pretty amusing anecdote...

I had to go to the LTO to get a new student permit. Since I can't drive because of my knee injury, my old one expired before I was able to convert it. So anyway, I was there at around 9am. I was ready to submit my form when the lady nonchalantly told me (with a smile, take note) -- "Hindi kami magrerelease ng permit ngayon kasi sira yung printer. Sa monday na lang." Hello????!!!!!! ganun na lang ba yon? It's like they weren't even going to do anything about it, not have it fixed, or even borrow a temporary printer! There were ways to solve the problem if they wanted to. But I guess they didn't feel any sense of urgency, plus I think the fact that it was a friday made it worse. Defeated as I felt, I just had to leave and go back another time then. On my way out, a voice suddenly spoke into the PA system -- "Sa mga kumukuha po ng lisensya, mag-antay lang po tayo sandali kasi di kami maka log-in". Wehehehe...may huling hirit pa eh

I then went to another one nearby. As I was about to enter, the first thing I saw was a sign they had by the counter that said "No releasing of student permits".

Sigh, whatta day....
